We open with questions from Conservative MP the committee chair, that leads the committee.

She initiates by offering context to the unauthorized memo prepared by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.

"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting toward one side or the other, I just want it balanced, unbiased and fair," he declares.

When asked whether he believes the BBC is institutionally biased, the adviser answers: "No I don't. It is important to note, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is top-tier - both documentary and non-factual programming."

However, he continues: "There is significant effort that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation specialist examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it operates a "continuous process and active debate" regarding dynamic and complex subjects.

"Was the BBC willing to conduct a thorough dialogue and debate and implement changes?" she reflects. "In my view, indeed, they were."
