Iran is prepared to reinitiate nuclear talks with the United States provided that it is handled with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat declared exclusively dialogue produced results, and shared fresh requests had originated from mediators to resume negotiations with the Trump administration. He claimed Iran did not have secret atomic facilities, and Iran had not yet reached a point to allow the UN nuclear inspectorate to inspect attacked atomic facilities for security reasons.

Navigating a Challenging Course

Araghchi is treading a complex course since Iran does not want be seen to be acting from a position of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out more powerful defensively and emotionally from the coordinated strike on its atomic facilities in June.

He was talking at a defense forum in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium within its borders that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the stalemate in the prior discussions.

Prior Negotiations Abruptly Concluded

The previous five rounds of negotiations between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and bitter termination on 12 June when Israel, with US support, targeted Iranian nuclear sites in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with the American leader asserting the sites had been obliterated. Subsequently, EU nations employed their privilege to reinstate international penalties, but Iran maintains they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Proposed

Tehran representatives said they felt they had reached a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in previous talks, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with US participation could enrich uranium. The two nations would have been able to assert triumph since local refinement would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's nuclear programme was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the talks that US nuclear scientists could work on Iranian soil, but that was a natural consequence of the cooperative offer. Officials asserted repeatedly they had reached agreement with Washington's diplomat the US official only for the deal to collapse due to "spoilers in Washington".

Current Status

Tehran representatives stated the cooperative arrangement was now no longer available, but it seems highly likely the suggestion could be resurrected in some form if discussions resume.

Trump recently said he had been getting signals that Iran sought to restart talks, but privately Tehran representatives state they are not yet receiving consistent overtures from America either straightforwardly or from significant local go-betweens, such as Qatar, Egypt, the Omani authorities and the Saudi kingdom. The Iranian foreign ministry has been accused of passivity in the face of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran states diplomacy is not part of a show.

Diplomatic Stance

In his address to the forum, designed to depict the US as a hegemonic power that misuses the idea of global regulations, Araghchi declared the 12-day war revealed the conflict could not be settled by combat operations. He stated the attacks started with a Washington's ultimatum for an unconditional Iranian surrender and culminated with an absolute demand for a truce.

Iran is convinced the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were carried out with total Washington understanding and cooperation, making faith difficult to reestablish.

Diplomacy Stays the Primary Answer

The foreign minister declared: "It was not Iran that had deserted diplomacy; it was America and the Western nations that had always attempted to dictate their demands during the discussions. Negotiations can still be viable and continues the primary answer to settle disputes, but its criteria, regulations and principles must be respected."

"Provided that they address to the nation of Iran with the approach of dignity and respect, they will receive a response in the identical approach."

Recovery and Reconstruction

In what is characterized by Iran's diplomats as the struggle of restoration and rebuilding, Araghchi stated he was confident Iran's security strengths "are considerably enhanced than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been restored. We learned multiple understandings from this conflict; we have identified our own weaknesses and the shortcomings of the enemy."

He continued: "We managed to survive this engagement. Our atomic expertise, which they planned to eliminate, continues to exist. The sites and equipment, if damaged, will be restored; what is crucial is the resolve of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they targeted, but were unable to shatter. The nation of Iran have grown more powerful, more integrated, and more backing of the leadership and the nation in the face of this assault."
