Present Difficulties Local inhabitants in this coastal town, a shoreline settlement and trading area on the border of the affected region, say the wait for assistance is increasingly difficult. One resident said he has been told assistance would arrive, but "they no turn up" He sat in the shade on a temporary seat in front of a structure scarcely remaining – completely missing its roof – uncertain about future steps. Isolation Challenges Approximately 400,000 individuals in Jamaica were without power as of Friday , and many additional people have lost telephone and internet connectivity, separated from global communications. Officials revealed that over two hundred satellite units have been deployed across the island to help people access the internet. Administrative Measures Officials responded to concerns the administration has encountered for its handling, saying there were "several factors" contributing to delays.
