The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California at the age of 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The influential industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.
